Description: Job Summary: Challenging engineering role for an automotive industry legend to develop and improve the re-manufacturing of automotive electric  steering systems.   Develop and deploy test systems for E-Steer unit testing. Be technically responsible for providing durable products to discerning mechanics and automotive enthusiasts. Job Duties: Performs basic engineering tasks related to designated engineering field:  remanufacturing, industrial, quality, productApplies a broad range of engineering techniques, practices, procedures, and criteria related to designated engineering field  in specific situationsDevelop product engineering on test limits for current and new productsDevelop test equipment and timelines to support the projectDevelop operations through a series of related detailed steps or processesMay assist in the development and installation of engineering methods, practices, and procedures related to designated engineering fieldDetermine customer technical requirements and convert them to detailed product requirementsDevelop innovative ways to increase the recycling of material by repair and restoration process developmentImprove product performance and reduce product costUtilize automotive engineering and quality practices to implement improvements with managed riskDevelop improvement projectsConfers with other engineers to resolve problemsOther duties as assigned Job Requirements & Skills: Minimum 1 Year experience in manufacturing environment.Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent, proven work experience.Works under supervision of a more senior engineerStrong understanding of engineering theory related to designated engineering field with the ability to apply knowledge to tasksStrong analytical and statistical skillsExhibits technical skills in one or more of the following areas:  manufacturing engineering, product development, supplier interactionKnowledge of metrics, competitive benchmarks and standards for the subjectAble to work independently, but be very effective in teamwork and  communication skillsHigh ethical standardsHeld to high standards for technical competenceGood project and program management skillsGood failure analysis and problem solving skillsGood customer and supplier interface skillsAdept at simplifying and communicating technical conceptsFamiliarity to work with computers systems such as MS Word, MS Excel, PDM and SolidWorksExperienced in a manufacturing factory and with large company engineering systemsOccasional domestic and international travel to plants, suppliers and customers
